How it works

Roamify Highlights swaps the highlight markers in your text, not the words. Paste a whole note that contains ==highlight== or ^^highlight^^ markers — every marker is converted while the rest of your text stays exactly the same.

1

Paste your note

Copy a paragraph, note or article with Markdown ==highlights== or RoamResearch ^^highlights^^, and paste it into the input box.

2

Hit Convert

Click the orange Convert button. Every highlight marker is rewritten into the other format, and the rest of your text is left untouched.

3

Copy & use

One click on Copy puts the result on your clipboard. Paste it straight into RoamResearch, Obsidian, Typora or any Markdown editor.

Markers at a glance

Markdown highlights use double equals signs ==text==, while RoamResearch uses double carets ^^text^^. Everything else in your text is identical in both formats.

Markdown: This is a ==highlighted== word.
RoamResearch: This is a ^^highlighted^^ word.

Frequently asked questions

What is a RoamResearch highlight?

In RoamResearch, highlighted text is wrapped in double carets: ^^like this^^. Roamify Highlights converts that marker into the Markdown form ==like this==, and back.

What is a Markdown highlight?

Many Markdown editors (Obsidian, Typora, GitHub Flavored Markdown and more) support highlights written as ==text==. Roamify Highlights converts them to RoamResearch's ^^text^^ form.

Do I need to remove the surrounding text?

No. Paste a whole paragraph or note. Roamify Highlights keeps every word and only swaps the highlight markers. Unpaired markers such as a lone == are left exactly as they are.

Is Roamify Highlights really free?

Yes. Roamify Highlights is 100% free, with no sign-up, no account and no usage limits. Every conversion runs locally in your own browser.

Where does my data go?

Nowhere. The conversion happens entirely in your browser tab. Nothing you paste is uploaded, stored or tracked.
